Abstract:
Dave Kasten, an investigative science reporter, arrives at the Village, founded by George Evans and his wife Rachel. Kasten had written a series of reports ten years earlier about the astonishing work he had witnessed at Search International, a research firm formerly owned by Evans. What he witnesses in the Village shocks and amazes him even more. The outside world believes the Village community is a secretive, even evil, commune-cult. Kasten has been asked by Evans to change that image. He spends a fast-paced week at the Village and helps resolve a mysterious death that had occurred several years earlier.
