When Marcus discovers that Steve has been dating his ex-girlfriend, he is infuriated. Marcus warns Steve to stay away from his ex-girlfriend, Yvette. The battle between Marcus and Steve intensifies at the handball courts. When they meet at a local tournament, the animosity and intensity grows. All see the hatred. The Game: The Rules have changed is a very entertaining book. The author has a raw street style of writing which, if you are from there reminds you of days past. For the reader whom has never read this type of book, be in for a surprise, the book holds you it draws you into "his" world. There are many emotions found in this story from love, hate, intense and sorrow. The characters feel "real" and are believable. Sit back and let Eddie Cruz take you on a ride. I am not much of a reader, but being that I am to a handball player this book appealed to me. I loved how the author incorporated real street's from the Bronx. I have even played in some of the places he wrote of in his book. This is a must read.

Reviewer: Cynthia Matthews
I think the book was very good. It kept you interested. It was easy to follow and you got to the point where you felt you really knew the characters. Some were easy to hate like Marcus and others were easy to like, such as Steve. I thought it was well written. On a level of 1 – 10, I’d say it was 9+. Especially being Eddie’s first work. I was pleased with the over-all book and very happy for Eddie. It was a job well done. Eddie, I’m looking forward to you next one. Good Luck!!!! Cindy Matthews.

I have never read a novel related to handball that kept me captivated. The author has a style of writing that is different from other urban book writers. He knows how to captivate the reader before delivering the big bang! The characters become real and you can relate the them. Be forwarned. The ending is off the hook.

  Bronx Urban Fiction tale ! , 09/05/2008
Reviewer: GMAN
This is not your regular urban fiction book. The author provides a vivid description of a Bronx Latin neighborhood. Eddie built the characters up and gave them identities. He walks you through places a person who ran up in the Bronx would remember and almost smell. When I was getting close to the end, I could not put this one down. The ending was unexpected and off the hook. EMOTIONAL ! Go Eddie Cruz!

  It's About Time , 09/15/2008
Reviewer: Jason Alvarez
It's about time someone wrote a novel about handball. It has been and still is considered to be a poor man's game. This story was very good. The character's made me laugh. The writer draws you slowly into the story - than you're hooked. The ending was twisted and nicely played out. Emotional and engaging. Let's us support this writer. There are no novels about handball anywhere else.

  Fantastic Read , 05/28/2009
Reviewer: William Kelly
Why isn't this book being sold on the streets or in stores? I purchased this book when I saw the author himself reading it on a New York City subway train. I liked the cover and asked him where he purchased it. He smiled and turned the book around and there was his picture on the back cover. He signed it for me. I read the book and would recommend it to everyone who loves an urban story. Great and emotional ending. Thanks Eddie.
