Abstract:
When Vincent Scott arrives in Staunton for the Russing Place Ball, he unknowingly stumbles upon the scene of a death.
Detective Henry is called to investigate.
Once the victim’s brother arrives from out of town, however, it seems that he has an alternative agenda in mind. He begins to focus on Amanda, the lady of the house.
Scott soon uncovers his blackmailing ways and sends the man away, yet it seems that he is not the only one who is after her money.
Whether through friendship, romance, even blackmail, deception broods heavy at Russing Place, all for the want of money.
