Man or beast? The same question asked about the mythical Sasquatch might be asked regarding its namesake, young Texan Clint Buchanan (“Buck Hannon”). Read Clint’s story, and judge for yourself.

Abstract:
In this action-packed character novel, Sasquatch is not the mythical creature rumored to haunt the forests of North America. He is a young Texan named Clint Buchanan (pronounced “Buck Hannon”) who prowls the streets of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the late-1970s. Clint seems to have it all--herculean size and strength, polymathic intelligence, shy yet magnetic personality, manly good looks, and the charm to seduce any woman he wants. Barely a man but already the size of Jimmy Dean’s “Big Bad John,” the similarities do not end there. Trouble seems to follow Clint, and a combination of bad choices, bad timing, and bad luck has tragic results.

This book was my first foray into the world of self-published novels, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Both the physical quality of the book and, more importantly, its content were top-notch. Like Clint, the story’s protagonist, I like a good character study, and this one definitely qualifies as good. None of the characters is straight-forward, and Clint is especially complicated. He’s clearly not perfect, and yet one can’t help but like him. The other characters are appealing as well, and the action is believable throughout. The story is a real page-turner, and I read it in only two sittings. I just didn’t want to put it down. Even now that I’m finished, I just keep going back to read different segments. There are so many good parts of the story and so many layers to the characters. It’s hard to take it all in the first time. The chapter titled “Absolution” is particularly good, but one should be prepared with plenty of tissues. It WILL make you cry! I’ve read it five or six times already, and it still gets me every time. All in all, I think the author acquitted himself very well in his first effort, and I can’t wait to read his next book, hopefully a sequel. As noted in an earlier review, I think this novel would make an excellent movie. Let’s all hope so!

First, I would like to congratulate my uncle on his very first novel and say that I look forward to the second one. Secondly, and without bias, I can say that this is absolutely the best book that I have ever laid my hands on, just filled with such emotion, and so real. I loved Absolution, as someone mentioned before. The ending was such a shocker as well. I would reccomend this to anyone who would watch a rated R movie (which is most of us). It was strange in some aspects to read this book, noticing lots of things about Clint (the good things) that are so similar, if not the same, to my uncle and my dad's side of the family. Great job, Uncle Will, see you soon!!! Love you♥♥♥

First off, be warned that this novel contains some adult content, so don't make the mistake of buying it for a child or anyone who can't handle an R-rated movie. It's definitely for mature readers only, but if you're an adult who loves great characters, a compelling plot, a hot romance, and a lot of action, you can't go wrong with this wonderful story. From the first page to the last, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you will find it very hard to put down. The protagonist is a larger-than-life character in more ways than one. He's very complicated and impossible not to love, and all of the other characters are great too. If you're drawn to books with great characters, you can't go wrong here, but the plot is equally compelling. The ending seemed to be a cliff-hanger, so I suspect there will be a sequel, and I sincerely hope so. If not, I will be sorely disappointed. As I read this novel, I kept thinking, "This would make a great movie!" It would be a real treat to see this story come to life on the big screen. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Imagine Sasquatch not as a fabled forest creature, but instead as a young Texas behemoth – and you’ll have Clint Buchanan. Roaming the streets of Dallas in the late 1970’s, Clint has the charm, intelligence, personality, and good looks to get whatever – and whomever – he wants; however, encountering more than his fair share of bumps in the road, Clint wends his way through the typically unpredictable evolution of late adolescence, and, joined by his closest buddies, the mercurial phenomenon experiences one adventure after another – trading one form of metaphorical wilderness for another...
The Legend Of Sasquatch is a riveting, action-packed read. In his standout debut effort, author William Prince takes the reader on a surprisingly engrossing journey through the depths of the human psyche. As he struggles to find himself, Clint experiences everything from confusion to pain to love to rejection to hope, all of which leaves a lasting impression on the ongoing development of his quite impressionable character. All told – and in convincing fashion – Prince paints a vivid picture of the complex task of simply finding one’s own place in the world, regardless of our mental, physical, or emotional status, and as a result, his well-crafted tale is one to which readers of all ages and backgrounds are sure to relate. A deeply gratifying, highly recommended read.
