Man or beast? The same question asked about the mythical Sasquatch might be asked regarding its namesake, young Texan Clint Buchanan (“Buck Hannon”). Read Clint’s story, and judge for yourself.

Abstract:
In this action-packed character novel, Sasquatch is not the mythical creature rumored to haunt the forests of North America. He is a young Texan named Clint Buchanan (pronounced “Buck Hannon”) who prowls the streets of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the late-1970s. Clint seems to have it all--herculean size and strength, polymathic intelligence, shy yet magnetic personality, manly good looks, and the charm to seduce any woman he wants. Barely a man but already the size of Jimmy Dean’s “Big Bad John,” the similarities do not end there. Trouble seems to follow Clint, and a combination of bad choices, bad timing, and bad luck has tragic results.

Oh my! What a story! I laughed. I cried. I cheered. I booed. A roller-coaster of action and emotion. I hated when it was over so I think I'll just read it again. The best novel I've read in years, maybe ever!

  Good Character Study , 07/07/2008
Reviewer: Mark
This book was my first foray into the world of self-published novels, so I wasn't expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. Both the physical quality of the book and, more importantly, its content were top-notch. Like Clint, the story’s protagonist, I like a good character study, and this one definitely qualifies as good. None of the characters is straight-forward, and Clint is especially complicated. He’s clearly not perfect, and yet one can’t help but like him. The other characters are appealing as well, and the action is believable throughout. The story is a real page-turner, and I read it in only two sittings. I just didn’t want to put it down. Even now that I’m finished, I just keep going back to read different segments. There are so many good parts of the story and so many layers to the characters. It’s hard to take it all in the first time. The chapter titled “Absolution” is particularly good, but one should be prepared with plenty of tissues. It WILL make you cry! I’ve read it five or six times already, and it still gets me every time. All in all, I think the author acquitted himself very well in his first effort, and I can’t wait to read his next book, hopefully a sequel. As noted in an earlier review, I think this novel would make an excellent movie. Let’s all hope so!

I would have to say that while I usually only travel out of the realm of fantasy for a few authors this would be one of them. This book was full of depth and intrigue from the first page to the last. I just couldn't put it down. I would definitely read more modern fiction books if they were as well written as this one. And I will absolutely read more books by William Prince in the future.

  OUTSTANDING , 07/12/2008
Reviewer: Shari Mayhew
This book is excellent!!! I haven’t read a story of this caliber in years. It kept my interest and I hated to have to put it down. I completed it in three sittings. I anxiously awaited learning more about Clint with each chapter. The description of Clint was so exacting that I could truly imagine the man. Clint in young and naive but also confident and strong. I laughed and cried out loud learning about this character. The ambiguity in the chapter names was clever. In reading the chapter name I wondered what was going to happen. I yelled out loud at the ending. PLEASE write a sequel. What happens to Clint?!!!!

  Awesome! , 07/13/2008

The story had me captivated from one chapter to the next. My only complaint is that the ending left me feeling like a woman who was finally convinced to pucker up then was left hanging. Will, there had better be a sequel coming!

Okay, where's this Prince guy been hiding? "Sasquatch" is a very compelling story that's hard to put down. It's got a little of everything-action, suspense, humor and a love story all rolled into one. Read this book! You WON'T be disappointed!!

  Congrats Uncle Will!!!♥♥♥ , 11/12/2008
Reviewer: Kim Prince
First, I would like to congratulate my uncle on his very first novel and say that I look forward to the second one. Secondly, and without bias, I can say that this is absolutely the best book that I have ever laid my hands on, just filled with such emotion, and so real. I loved Absolution, as someone mentioned before. The ending was such a shocker as well. I would reccomend this to anyone who would watch a rated R movie (which is most of us). It was strange in some aspects to read this book, noticing lots of things about Clint (the good things) that are so similar, if not the same, to my uncle and my dad's side of the family. Great job, Uncle Will, see you soon!!! Love you♥♥♥

  Wow! Great story! , 12/01/2008
Reviewer: Sage
The Legend of Sasquatch is possibly the most enjoyable book I’ve ever read. It’s probably not the most profound, but it’s really quite good. The story is very compelling. It has a good plot, great characters and realistic action and love scenes. I hate to use a worn out term like “page turner,” but that’s exactly what this book is. I literally couldn’t put it down and read it all in one fell swoop. I highly recommend it to any mature reader who can handle grownup language, sex and some violence. No one could be disappointed in this great story!

  AWESOME STORY!!! , 07/01/2009
Reviewer: Vanden King
Mr. Prince, I have you to thank for me not getting much sleep last night. Your book arrived yesterday morning, and I started it when I got off work from my second job. I did not—could not—put it down until I was done at 2:30 a.m.! Let me say right off that I am NOT much of a reader. This is the second book I have bought since required reading for the fire department. Wow, what a story! I just could not stop! My arms went to sleep numerous times, but I was so captivated that I just kept going. You are an amazing writer. I am looking forward anxiously to your next book! You did an awesome job!!

  Great first effort! , 07/03/2009
Reviewer: Trudy Gibson Knight
You would never know this was the author's first book. It is an emotionally charged adventure of the angst and antics of a young man trying to find his way in the world. It will make you laugh; then, just as quickly, make you cry. Once you start reading, it is difficult to put down. However, be aware of the author's warning that this book has adult content and may not be suitable for most teen readers. Regardless, I have no reservations about recommending it. I am also looking forward to the sequel. So, hurry up already...we're waiting!!

This is an outstanding book with great characters that the author brings to life. You feel that you know each character personally, especially Clint who struggles to keep himself on the right path of life. Once you start you cannot put this book down and I cannot wait until the next book is available!

  90 MPH down I-35 , 02/02/2011
Reviewer: Joel Blaine Kirkpatrick
William T. Prince wrote 'The Legend of Sasquatch'. He included every womanizing-foul mouthed-whiskey-swilling-gun-toting-help-me-jesus moment he could cram into it. It must have been frantic sometimes; this is over-the-top crime writing done very well, and slows only at the page turns. He also transparently splatters it with so many of his own opinions, you could toss the book and it would land open to a page with three of 'em. How William T. does all that hell-bent writing, without making his character a cartoon...well, that's just how it's done in Texas. Clint sticks out everywhere he goes. He also sticks out in this text. He is not a hulk, looking for trouble. Clint is a kid, and a good one. That trouble following him is all too real. W.T. Prince keeps Clint so real, you would swear you went to high school with him. Read over any of the next four things that are garishly written and you will have pages of honesty. Clint is worth reading about. When you get to the chapter titled Absolution...you will know exactly what I mean. If someone real inspired this story for Mr. Prince, I bet he misses that kid.

Great story! Highly recommend! , 10/31/2011
Reviewer: Tom Kindle
First off, be warned that this novel contains some adult content, so don't make the mistake of buying it for a child or anyone who can't handle an R-rated movie. It's definitely for mature readers only, but if you're an adult who loves great characters, a compelling plot, a hot romance, and a lot of action, you can't go wrong with this wonderful story. From the first page to the last, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat, and you will find it very hard to put down. The protagonist is a larger-than-life character in more ways than one. He's very complicated and impossible not to love, and all of the other characters are great too. If you're drawn to books with great characters, you can't go wrong here, but the plot is equally compelling. The ending seemed to be a cliff-hanger, so I suspect there will be a sequel, and I sincerely hope so. If not, I will be sorely disappointed. As I read this novel, I kept thinking, "This would make a great movie!" It would be a real treat to see this story come to life on the big screen. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

  Loved this book! , 12/05/2011
Reviewer: Terry Matthews
I don't know how to get all flowery in a review, and I hate to give a lot of details that might be spoilers to some people. Just know, this is a great story. Clint Buchanan is larger than life but still believable, and he has a number of strong supporting characters. The plot moves crisply and keeps you interested, and the ending seems to indicate that a sequel is coming, which I will no doubt read. I stumbled onto this book, and I can't figure out why it's pretty much off the radar. This should be a bestseller, and it would make a great action flick. If you have any doubts about getting this book, don't. You'll love it just like me and everyone else. Five stars easy!

An engrossing journey through the depths of the human psyche. , 03/08/2015
Reviewer: Josee Morgan
Imagine Sasquatch not as a fabled forest creature, but instead as a young Texas behemoth – and you’ll have Clint Buchanan. Roaming the streets of Dallas in the late 1970’s, Clint has the charm, intelligence, personality, and good looks to get whatever – and whomever – he wants; however, encountering more than his fair share of bumps in the road, Clint wends his way through the typically unpredictable evolution of late adolescence, and, joined by his closest buddies, the mercurial phenomenon experiences one adventure after another – trading one form of metaphorical wilderness for another... The Legend Of Sasquatch is a riveting, action-packed read. In his standout debut effort, author William Prince takes the reader on a surprisingly engrossing journey through the depths of the human psyche. As he struggles to find himself, Clint experiences everything from confusion to pain to love to rejection to hope, all of which leaves a lasting impression on the ongoing development of his quite impressionable character. All told – and in convincing fashion – Prince paints a vivid picture of the complex task of simply finding one’s own place in the world, regardless of our mental, physical, or emotional status, and as a result, his well-crafted tale is one to which readers of all ages and backgrounds are sure to relate. A deeply gratifying, highly recommended read.
