Abstract:
While nursing a broken heart, Karla Holden, an idealistic young teacher is also becoming increasingly disillusioned with her career. In a fragile state of mind, she embarks on a trip to a remote farmhouse to care for Ty, a 15-year old autistic boy while his parents are away for the weekend. Karla and Ty have always shared a relationship that is both endearing and exasperating. That is, until a disarmingly handsome intruder shatters their quiet routine.

Jack Pritchard is being sought by the authorities and after breaking in and taking them hostage Karla and Jack are alternately forced to conceal and reveal their troubling identities over the perilous course of the weekend.
