Abstract:
The book is about apophatic mysticism. This mystical approach is utilized to reduce the amount of ideas occupying the mind so that the individual may then intimately encounter the contents of each moment. For example—the idea that there is a God, as well as the idea that there is not—are examples of thoughts that are eliminated, reduced in importance, or suspended for a period of time. When the mind’s articulation of thoughts is greatly reduced, the psyche becomes much more fully open to perceive the world of phenomena as a unified whole.
