Abstract:
Twelve-year-old Leely Dorman is a youngster way ahead of her times; a girl with great aspirations and perseverance. She’s determined to bring equality to her sex by becoming a bat-mitzvah against all odds. At the same time she initiates The Do-Gooders Club to obliterate intolerance and discrimination to the gang-corrupt neighborhood. In so doing, a mixture of various cultures blend into a most unique group of interesting characters and situations. Leely discovers she, herself, is bigoted. What should she do? Should she quit the club? Admit her guilt, or hide her devastation?
