Family Values (And Lack Thereof) is the long awaited sequel to the beloved Hoofprints to Hot Rods: Boyhood Adventures of Frank Smith, which told the shocking tale of the abuse Frank suffered during his childhood. Family Values (And Lack Thereof) describes Frank’s young adulthood in which he tries to overcome continuing abuse by his relatives while establishing a loving home for his wife and three children. The setting is Gladwyne, a wealthy suburb of Philadelphia, during the ‘50s and ‘60s. The book chronicles (with humor and grace) true love, non-stop family chaos, and the adventures of raising children, horses, goats, quail, and exotic pets in the suburbs of Philadelphia.
