Abstract:
Definitions of crime and corruption depend on the perspective of the perpetrators. During the fading years of the Depression, two central New York families vie for control. The Bommerito family-owned restaurant provides sanctuary and hides secrets of a Mafia connection while financier Roberts and his cronies desperate to maintain the status quo plan their secret takeovers behind the doors of banks and elite golf courses.

When pressure and pain are so great that mere existence is a struggle, people reach a breaking point. Members of Bommerito and Roberts families overwhelmed by violence and greed must choose to make compromises that challenge the integrity of each family.
