Abstract:
Mr. Big is A PROFESSIONAL HITMAN WHO HAS BEEN CONTRACTED TO ELIMINATE A HIGH PROFILE POLITICAL TARGET. THE CRIME FICTION THRILLER, SET ON THE CARIBBEAN ISLAND OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO, FOLLOWS THE THRILLS OF Big, A VETERAN OF THE GAME OF DEATH WHO MIGHT JUST BE LOSING HIS EDGE. Big IS SUSPICIOUS FROM THE START, AND AS HE SEARCHES FOR ANSWERS FROM MICHAEL JONES, THE GOVERNMENT MINISTER WHO HIRES HIM, HE QUICKLY BECOMES ENTANGLED IN A COMPLICATED WEB OF TRICKERY. THE MINISTER IS NOT AS DUMB AS HE APPEARS, NOR IS INSPECTOR MURPHY, THE CORRUPT COP WHOM JONES DRAGS INTO THE CONSPIRACY.

  Great Crime Thriller! , 11/15/2010

Dear Ty: I read Mr Big much faster than I expected, which says a lot about the book. It grabbed my interest at the start and held it for over 300 pages. It's easy to read, the plot twists are challenging, the dialogue is sharp, and the whole book is nicely paced. The fact that you could make a professional killer into a hero and hold reader sympathy for him is quite an achievement in itself. Of course the local setting adds to the interest, especially the way real events, remarks and people appear only lightly masked. I thought the many red herrings were cunningly done and the clues cunningly laid. Jeremy Taylor MEP and Caribbean Book Review Journal

  MR. BIG rocks , 11/15/2010

Great crime story. Ty N. Batson relentlessly exposes corruption in Trinidad with LOL scenes one after the other. Characters are real, and I really liked the way Big moves through Port-of-Spain which is fun if you know the city. The sex sizzles but maintains an R rating. Hope this book is the first of a series.

  A bad guy turned good? , 11/15/2010

Set in T&T yet with universal appeal. The twists and turns keep you wondering what will come next. The characters are quirky and interesting. The humour can make you laugh out loud. How do you turn a bad guy into a good one.....well maybe not a good one, but at least a guy we like? Read Mr. Big to find out.

really cool crime story , 12/02/2010

MR. BIG was one of those books I couldn't put down until I finished it--a real page turner--and then I was sorry it was over. Batson had me wondering until the end. This book is refreshing, not your typical crime story, maybe because all the characters are so well-described they seem real. And Big is the best of all--a really complex guy, a sensitive, philosophical, cold-blooded killer.
