Raymond Oswald and Jennie Kaul met by chance and dated and married while they attended school in different locations during the Great Depression. They survived numerous jobs and moves during those difficult years before settling into a more routine life during the 1940s. Ray attained professional acclaim as the first Director of Engineering at Argonne National Laboratory, where his team created a new city devoted to atomic energy research. Jennie raised four daughters while becoming a successful artist and honored community leader. This book includes Jennie’s memoirs as well as reminiscences of their daughters.
