“Book 1: An Introduction to the New Covenant” by Tony Barbieri was well worth the time it took me to read it. It points out things that even the most educated Christians miss while reading the Bible. I received a much deeper understanding of, most specifically, the book of Hebrews. Using many Scriptural passages along with detailed descriptions of the passages, Tony does a good job relating past events with how they pertain to the future. He explains clearly how those events apply to the last generation of believers who are here when Christ returns. Other things that really helped me grasp the messages that he was trying to convey was the excellent use of diagrams and object lessons. He lays out some really good concepts in there. As a fairly knowledgeable Christian, I had a lot of “I never thought of that before” moments, while reading the book. He also asks a lot of good questions that really lead you to think critically as well. I find almost all of the theology discussed in the book to be fundamentally accurate, here for these last days of this world’s history. I think my only uncertainty is when the writer speaks of Matthew 24:16 discussed on page 80. I believe his view is correct in a sense. However, the text may have multiple last-day applications, both literal and symbolic. Overall though, I gained tremendous insight about Christ and the Bible from reading this book. I would highly recommend this book to the serious Christian who seeks an understanding of the Gospel like they have never known before.
