Abstract:
The writer, a retired CPA/attorney, criticizes former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee’s presentation “A Simple Government” for blaming the breakdown of the American family on what he calls intrusive liberal government policies that intentionally encourage dependency: teenage pregnancies; fatherless homes; decline of traditional marriage; culture of violence and vulgarity; pop music; reality TV; sex video on the internet, and other manifestations of a sick culture. If our nation’s declining morality has anything to do with politics, we all better head for the lifeboats, and the Governor better know how to swim, because he’s already “in de Nile.”
