Abstract:
Lawrence Arone drove a greyhound bus for twenty nine years in the time before cell phones connected people. He often carried from the richest to the poorest and all possessing different states of mind. At that time, there were 7,000 busses going from Rockland, Maine to Eureka, California with 5,000 bus drivers. It was a profession that constantly tested one’s mind and body. It often made a Heroic Man out of the driver. Double on the Phoenix is a trilogy which exemplifies the different and incredulous aspects of this most difficult job.
