Abstract:
Cyber attackers are constantly looking for weaknesses in the cloud. Cloud vendors would make you believe using their service provides a level of security that could let you sleep well at night. As for the vendors, nothing could be farther from the truth. If you think you are safe trusting a vendor whose perception of cloud security is left to their customers, your trust is misguided. For cloud service providers, cyber warfare must begin and end at the point where they provisioned service to the customer. This book will help you to understand the threats they face in cyberspace.

Great information for all levels... , 02/01/2012
Reviewer: Terry Holberton
The team of writers of this book really lay out the challenges, proposed approaches, and the overall ecosystem of this complex environment really well. There is a huge struggle with Cloud Security today and what that really means, not to mention the war that is going on all day, everyday in the world of cyber (which is very relevant outside of the cloud as well). This is a great read that caters to all technical and non technical levels and helps folks relate to the challenges and potential fixes that are out ther. The chapter summeries are a great addtion too. Nice work everyone who contributed!

An Important Read for Business Leaders , 02/11/2012
Reviewer: Parham Eftekhari
From the onset, the goal of the authors Dr. Rittinghouse and Dr. Ransome was to publish a comprehensive, non-technical book that would act as a learning tool for business leaders who are interested in understanding how the Cloud will affect their organization; a goal I feel they successfully achieved. From my experience with the Federal Government, I have seen firsthand how a lack of understanding of basic IT concepts on the part of business leaders can hinder an organization's ability to realize the full impact of IT modernization efforts. I strongly believe that to be competitive, it is imperative for all business executives to become familiar with the Cloud and understand the risks associated with it...and this book is a great way to do just that. By doing this, business and IT leaders can effectively collaborate to ensure that IT investments support the business need and ROI is maximized. While I recognize my bias given my involvement with the book, I strongly urge business executives to use this book (or any other of their choosing) to educate themselves on the Cloud in order to improve their ability to lead in today's digital age.
