Reviewer: Monty Steadman
Bernard Lord's THE HUNGRY OCEAN is a very readable, fast moving, interesting and informative novel. It tells the stories of both the British Merchant Marine in the North Atlantic and the trials and privations of Londoners during the World War II blitz. This book illustrates the history of that period through very moving, personal stories. Even the reader who does not usually prefer historical fiction will find this is a book that cannot be put down until the final page is turned. I highly recommend Mr. Lord's latest offer as one of his best efforts.
