“Saints, Sinners, Survivors” --- an exciting and true portrayal of the classic battle of the “good guys” versus the “bad guys” in today’s modern law enforcement profession.

Abstract:
“There is a war going on out there, a war between criminals and a good society. We know that war will not end as long as evil dwells in men’s souls. But we can work to lock up those who are too violent to live in civilized society. And we can support the law enforcement officers who are on the front lines saving us every single day of our lives.”

President George H.W. Bush, 41st President of the United States
(From remarks he made on October 15, 1991, at the
dedication of the National Law Enforcement
Officers Memorial, in Washington D.C.)

As he did in his previous book, Badge 149 Shots Fired, author Gary Jones hit the nail on the head with this book. As a retired police officer from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department and having worked with Gary, I find that he leaves no details uncovered when it comes to the way things were done. Although I had retired when much of this happened I noticed that many of the finest police officers I have ever known were still pounding the street. For me the book was thrilling to read and sometimes very emotional to absorb. It is a great read for those who come from the city or are interested in real police work. Great job Gary!!

If you have already read his first book, "Badge 149 - Shots Fired", then you should enjoy this one just as much. In this book, he takes us not only to Fort Lauderdale, but to other areas of Law Enforcement throughout the state. I have personal knowledge of some of the incidents referred to in this book and I can tell you that they are written in a very factual and concise manner. This book gives an inside look at some of the less glamorous and too often tragic areas of law enforcement. I think that Gary makes us understand that Police Officers are as mortal and fallible as anyone. This is another excellent book. Thank you Gary. And thank you for all that you do to keep the memory of our fallen comrades alive.

Another great book by author Gary Jones. The stories in this book draw you in and gives you a little insight into what it's like to work in law enforcement. A career that can be very gratifying, while at the same time, can be oh so unpredictable. I have so much respect and admiration for the men and women who put their life on the line everyday, and this book only helps reinforces those feelings. Great read!
