Kidnapping, murder, seduction. Not your average summer vacation. Finding a mysterious letter at her family’s beach house, young teacher Jenna Reed is propelled into a web of deceit.

Abstract:
After finding a mysterious letter at her family’s beach house in Cape May, New Jersey, young teacher Jenna Reed seeks the truth about her mother’s involvement in a plot to hide a small child and five gold animal figurines, believed to be the lost treasure of Blackbeard. She soon becomes an unwilling participant in a deadly cat-and-mouse game between a ruthless modern-day pirate and a driven FBI agent who wants to settle a thirty-year old score. Jenna breaks her promise of swearing off men for the summer as two men finagle their way into her life and her heart.

S. A. Van had me sucked in from the beginning. The intricacies of her mystery were impressive. I have to admit that when I finished this book, I was upset to learn that the second book of this trilogy has yet to be released. I will keep my out out for this one!
