Abstract:

In Between the Star and the Cross: The Election, Sheriff Dale Harper and his deputies are confronted with puzzling murders and difficult circumstances in the midst of his re-election campaign. At least he felt he could take some comfort in his tender new friendship with the lovely director of the Christian mission, Milagro Palacios. When that relationship suddenly cools, however Dale Harper finds himself struggling with one more mystery or as his best friend, Eddie says “trying to explain a woman!” Investigations, politics and the warmth of common folks in the Ozarks add zest to this new journey to Serenity.
