Abstract:
Machismo is defined as strong, aggressive masculinity obviously relating to being male. In this book however, macho people refers to both male and female who share the macho characteristic traits of an impulsive, headstrong, short-tempered, free-spending, sexuality active individual. Compared to another common kind of individual in our society, a conscientious, practical-minded, frugal, even-tempered disciplined person, one has to ask which type contributes to a civil society. To be fair, machos are also seen as spontaneous and fun-loving while conscientious souls can be seen as dour party poopers who need to “lighten up.” Or so the machos say.
