This fresh analysis explains how the new definition of time and the constant speed property of light lead to the well known ‘slow clocks’, ‘object contraction‘, and ‘twin paradox’ phenomena.

Abstract:
The original 1905 Relativity paper by A. Einstein introduced the new concepts of time and the constant speed nature of light. The present book shows how these concepts are the source of the Lorentz transforms, the apparent slowing of clocks and shortening of objects (when viewed from a stationary frame), and the twin paradox. The paradox is resolved by the variation with speed. Simultaneity is explained for light and compared with sound properties. The space-time interval ct02 = ct2 – x2 is shown to arise from the Lorentz transforms.
