Abstract:
This workbook is designed to present practical information to educators on ways to teach literacy skills through the use of art with students who have Autism and/or Multiple disabilities.
The format presents step by step process that shows teachers how to introduce written texts geared to student interests and abilities, stimulate the tactile and visual skills to fully engage students with written text, and how to develop lesson plans, aligned to standards, which teach these skills.
The contents are based on over two decades of work completed by Mrs. Woodham with her students.
