Abstract:
My trek began in childhood, dark conflict was the rule
Threats, fights and timidity; were all taught at my school
Passing graveyards of long dead men; hounds of Adversity bark,
As I dance to the music of masters of dark

Then I met someone at a fork in my path that bade me:
“Peace, Be Still; stop awhile and talk. Rest your heavy load.”
He pointed to the narrow road, that lead up to a hill
Illumed with soft pale light, so peaceful I stood still

I gazed upon a sacred scene, from a time so long ago
barely understanding, yet my heart so yearned to know
Suddenly I had turned a bend, my sorrows and worry gone
Darkness and clouds had flown, replaced by golden dawn

The skies, no longer dark, had turned to pastel blue
Courage and strength renewed as pale light streamed through:
New companions of peace brought sweet fragrance to the air
I knew I could now face life, there was nothing left to fear.

I no longer inhabit dark places I’ve known
My Life is a bright new adventure: I no longer walk alone...
