Abstract:
Billy Robertson was born in 1950 and grew up in a rural suburb of Bradford, Pennsylvania. Told from the boy’s point of view, Stories from the Olden Days traces Billy’s rollercoaster ride through childhood. The mainly humorous episodes relate his troubles at school, at play, and at church. Brutal teachers, treacherous classmates, and his quirky family all come under scrutiny as the plot unfolds. He also reveals the incidents and people that influenced him to become a writer. Come join in the games, jokes, and fun from an era uninfected by political correctness. An old-fashioned horselaugh provides the appropriate soundtrack.
