Ex-cop Stan Iverson and his Paiute Indian partner explore the unlikely link between foster care and murder for hire. What they discover involves Croatian expatriates, wealthy corporations and unforeseen victims.

Abstract:
Stan Iverson walked away from a thirty year law enforcement career with hope of finding more meaning in his life. What he found was loneliness, depression and an abundance of whiney clients. A stranger in a bar changes that when he offers the former cop $50,000 to kill him. The stranger has a past he wants to escape but wants Iverson to expose. Iverson's trepidation is replaced by curiosity when they are both attacked outside the bar. A newly formed alliance with a Paiute Indian moves the investigation into the unlikely linked worlds of foster care and murder for hire.

Reviewer: Kathy Tetzloff
Keepers, written by Chuck Boyer, is an excellent example of well written intrigue. His characters are strongly portrayed and his ability to paint mental pictures with his use of vocabulary is outstanding. His extensive background on social issues is evident in his writing. I especially liked the strong female character in his book and appreciated the working relationship she has with the main male character of the story. I would highly recommend this book for those looking for a good adventure!
