The authors are Lillian S. Kachmar, Esq. and John F. Steele. In their more than 20 years of marriage, they have provided caregiving services to a number of elderly relatives. After years of informally counseling others with caregiving issues, and being urged time and again to write a book about this difficult topic, they finally reduced their experiences and expertise to writing.

Lillian graduated from The University of Villanova School of Law in 1978, and has practiced extensively in the health care field, representing hospitals, nursing homes and home health care agencies. John operates the family business, and Lillian currently acts as General Counsel to a regional home health care provider. They reside outside of Philadelphia, PA with their daughter, three dogs, three cats and three fish.
