John Kovach has been an educator and coach for twenty years. He graduated from the University of Maryland with degrees in English and English Education in 1979 and earned a Masters Degree in 1992.

He first met Governor Robert Ehrlich in the spring of 2000, when he took his daughter to meet then-Congressman Ehrlich at his office in Washington, D.C. Less than two years later, after Ehrlich announced that he was going to run for Governor and the campaign began, the idea for this book was born.

Kovach resides in Reisterstown, Maryland, with his wife Henrietta and daughter Sarah.
