Born in Kentucky, Mona Rae Miracle has lived in seven states. Since putting down roots in western North Carolina fourteen years ago, she affectionately describes the mountains as the promised land. Mona attended Florida State University (Tallahassee), and she earned graduate degrees from University of Florida (Gainesville), and Nova University at Ft. Lauderdale. She has worked as a retailing executive, teacher, librarian and writer. She co-authored My Sister Marilyn (Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill), and has published fiction, feature articles, and poetry in various markets.
