St Peter Chanel High School was established as a comprehensive four-year Catholic High School for young men founded by the Society of Mary on October 5, 1958. On June 4, 1961, the first class of 98 seniors graduated. In 1986 the school became a co-educational high school of the Diocese of Cleveland. As the Marists turned over operations to the Diocese, Provincial Father Rowland committed to carry on the legacy of dedication to Mary, which drives its ministry and shapes its students as they seek to fulfill its motto to “Seek what is above.”
