At age 12, R. G. Ives scrapped his first novel at page 89 when girls temporarily silenced The Muses. In college, Ives returned to writing prose and poetry and practiced his craft after graduation where he was employed by a local TV station as a script and copywriter. Later, his original passion lay more or less dormant for 20 years after he formed his own company to create one-of-kind glass-topped coffee tables that featured model railroad trains traveling through custom-designed landscapes.
