Farrell M. Boley, a New Orleans native, was inducted in the Army and served in Panama, Scotland, England, Belgium, France and Germany, during World War II. On his return to the United States after five years in the service, Mr. Boley went West and was so enamored by the beautiful mountains in California that he located there. He hired on at Convair General Dynamics, where he would stay for thirty one years, in the course of which time he wrote and edited many technical documents.

After retiring, he published his first novel, Machete, concerning terrorists, in 1993. The last few years he has been writing short novels, called Commuter Novels. The first two are West of the Cimarron with Betsy and Peekaboo and Mr. Devious and his Gumshoe.
