The author, like the characters in his book, is well traveled, having visited many of the places mentioned in the book. He has drawn upon these experiences and his training as a biologist, a computer programmer and a martial artist to create the scenes in the novel. Aside from writing, the author enjoys reading, gardening, playing guitar and cooking, as well as many sporting activities, including golf and hiking.
