Biography:
Bob Quinn is a product of the Depression, and a veteran of World War Two and Korea. He participated in the landings on Saipan and Guam as well as the Battle of the Leyte Gulf. On September 2, 1945, he witnessed the Japanese surrender, on the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, from the flight deck of his aircraft carrier. Quinn’s writing is drawn from his experiences, beginning at age fourteen when he hopped onto a moving freight train, and traveled across the United States until he was sixteen at which time he lied about his age and joined the navy. He is retired from IBM after thirty-one years service.
