Bill Tangen is an award-winning writer, who was named New York State Sportswriter of the Year (1977) for his coverage of scholastic wrestling.

He attended the prestigious American Press Institute in Reston, Virginia (1976), and interviewed legendary heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali (September, 1976), prior to his title defense against Ken Norton, at New York’s Yankee Stadium.

Currently a freelance writer, Bill is a highly-regarded Bruce Springsteen karaoke singer, and is currently writing his second book, about what it is like following Springsteen on tour. He and his wife, Christine, have two grown daughters, Tracie in Pennsylvania, Dawn in South Carolina, and seven grandchildren.
