Biography:

Katie Letcher Lyle is the author of eleven books including poetry, novels, historical non-fiction, and nature/cooking books, as well as many articles. Her short fiction has appeared in many magazines, including Viva, Shenandoah, and The Virginia Quarterly Review. A writer, teacher, and speaker, she taught 25 years at Southern Seminary College, has taught intermittently in the graduate Writing Program at Hollins College, and been adjunct professor at Washington and Lee University and Randolph Macon Woman’s College She is active in organizations that serve the handicapped, is the Spoonbread Queen of America, and holds the world record (3) for “My Turns” in Newsweek. She lives with her family in Lexington, Va.
