As a teenager growing up on the Chesapeake Bay, Gordon took sailing lessons and sailed with his father on small yachts. After high school, he went inland for twenty years to study and work. A fluent Mandarin speaker, Gordon has spent over fifteen years studying and working in China, Hong Kong, Scotland and India.

After finishing his three-year cruise on “Adina” in 2002, Gordon returned to China to re-stock the kitty. By press time, Gordon had purchased a new yacht and was setting off from Australia on another adventure with his old friend, Murphy.
