James Thulin gained his deep appreciation for nature while growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, when family vacations took him to the contrast of the mountains. During these trips, Native American tourist spots also captivated him. Years later, with his distant Ogallala Sioux heritage revealed to him, he then developed an interest in Native American culture and history. The urge to write didn’t present itself until an ancient burial mound at Devils Lake, Wisconsin seemed to cry out - “there’s a story here!” Thus, driven by a rare passion, he created this epic novel, dedicated to a long-lost people and the dreams that bind us all to the future.
