The authors are both good students who do all of the usual kid stuff. In the summer Alan, age 11, plays sports, Jessica, age 14, acts in local theater and both play piano and read. Something extraordinary occurred in the summer of 2004—something that they will never forget. They feel obligated to tell their story and to send a warning to others who may pass in their wake.
