Biography:

Carol Giacomucci grew up in suburban Philadelphia. Her attachment to animals started when she was a toddler, sharing her bottle with an orphaned fawn at her uncle’s campground in the Blue Ridge Mountains of West Virginia. While growing up, she and her family continued to share their home with animals. When she moved to Arizona in 1994, she raised goats and chickens, while educating others about animal abuse. Precious, the bantam hen in this story was unique. She slept on top of the refrigerator every night, and had a special treat of carrots on the weekends. Once she even became a foster mother, sitting on another hen’s deserted eggs, until they hatched. Currently, Carol is a teacher in Arizona, and shares her home with her husband, Mark, the family dog, and two spoiled cats.
