J. R. Weaver is a retired teacher of high school social studies in the Imperial Valley of California. Before becoming a teacher he worked as a dealer in Lake Tahoe where he not only saw but also experienced the ups and downs associated with gambling. He now lives in Chula Vista, California with his wife of forty years. He spends his time writing and enjoying his grandchildren.
