Born in Malacca, Malaya and educated in Australia, I went on to graduate studies in London where I married an American anthropologist who took me to the South Pacific.

As a Foreign Service wife, living in posts throughout South Asia, I reared three children, taught high school and grew as a writer, poet and artist. Since retiring to Virginia, I have continued painting and writing.

This, my third memoir, describes my unusual Asian-Australian childhood and how it influenced both my mother and myself.
