The author has lived all but eight years on the family ranch in Montana’s South Central high plains that border Yellowstone Park. The eight years spent away from the ranch were equally divided between education, a degree in Agriculture Economics from Montana State, graduate work at the U of Washington, and service in the army. During WWII he was on his way to Europe when he met his future wife, Eleanor, a hostess at an officer’s dance on Staten Island.
