Prior to obtaining her Ph.D. from the University of California at Riverside, Dr. Gwendolyn Stevens had been a model, actress, secretary, institutional researcher, and bookstore owner. After teaching at several community colleges in Southern California, she accepted a position at Southeast Missouri State and then at the U. S. Coast Guard Academy, from which she retired as Professor of Psychology and Director of Academic Resources; currently she’s affiliated with Georgia Coastal Community College and Armstrong Atlantic State University. In addition to extensive experience as a therapist, Dr. Stevens has several publications – books, professional newsletters, student handbooks, as well as articles in professional journals.
