John H. Thaler was born in Los Angeles in 1964. He grew up in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles at a time when it was filled with farms and walnut groves and devoid of highrise buildings.

Mr. Thaler attended Harvard School in North Hollywood, California. In 1986, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA in Political Science, specializing in Public Policy and International Relations. Mr. Thaler then received a Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1990.

Mr. Thaler currently maintains an independent law practice in the San Fernando Valley.
