Dr. Derrickson’s long and diverse CTE career was spotlighted in the January 2007 edition of ACTE’s Techniques magazine. He has worked in agriculture, culinary arts, skilled trades, business, and manufacturing. This background, plus Dr. Derrickson’s education experience as a high school CTE teacher, high school CTSO advisor, apprentice instructor, state CTE supervisor, state CTSO advisor, and college professor, have enabled him to clearly see the original purposes and multifaceted possibilities of Career and Technical Student Organizations for high school Career and Technical Education students.
