Biography:

Pete Imirie is a retired commercial boat Captain, family boater safety instructor, designer of boatbuilding programs for children, coach and child of the Tidewater. He is the recipient of numerous program awards. His child-assembled 10’ wooden skiff “Chessie” was the official hands-on activity for Special Olympics at the 1995 Special Olympics World Games. He designed and performed the dramatic live in-water rescue demonstration seen on National television, “What Happens When Daddy Falls Over?” with 9-11 year old speed boat operators. He continues to teach family boater safety courses. He lives with his wife on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
