Born in the 1948, Sam Ross grew up in the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York. Forgoing a promising athletic career due to injuries, he embarked on the profession of education. Teaching in one of this country’s most dangerous areas, he was injured and retired on disability at the age of thirty-one. While raising a family, he endured 32 major operations and years of unimaginable pain. After years of torment he finally found solace in writing, having his first book published in 2005. Brothers of the Cross is his third literary work.
