As research for Just Go!, Joyce Barnett and Carol Heilman traveled into the remote northwest mountains of Haiti with Steve and Judy Revis, a missionary couple who love Jesus and the Haitian people.

Joyce Lance Barnett, a longtime friend of the Revis family, has worked alongside Steve and Judy in Haiti and has written many of their newsletters. She is an author and publisher of other missionary and church newsletters as well.

The Cup of Comfort book series featured several of Ms. Barnett’s non-fiction pieces and the University of North Carolina placed her “word-portrait of an Appalachian mountain man” in its historical files.

Joyce resides on her family’s farm near Pisgah National Forest in Western NC. The old home place has inspired many of her writings complete with her illustrations in pastels.
