John Baxter was publisher of a community newspaper, The Rockaway Press, from 1984 to 1991. He is a certified public access television producer and produced weekly programs in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan from 1992 to 2008. He is also a professional musician and singer who composes music, especially traditional Irish music.
