Kirtley R. Cook is a journalist and historian who has spent many years in the Far East. He hails from Florida, where he graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in English. His home is now in Tallahassee, Florida, but he spends most of his time in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, and the Philippines. He has also been an avid stamp collector since he was fourteen.
